Street Style Spotlight: Kourtney Kardashian

According to Kim, Kourtney Kardashian may be the least interesting to look at but not according to us.

Whether we want to admit it or not, the Kardashian klan have all been killing the street style game, now more than ever before. Even though they've all been nailing the art of street style, the eldest of the group, Kourtney has been a serious standout. Her recent breakup from her long term boyfriend Scott Disick, has left Kourtney with three children to care for by herself while balancing her career and elevated social life. Even so, Kourtney has managed to maintain her hectic life without compromising her steal-worthy style.

Kourtney's style is simple and minimal and her outfits are usually very practical to recreate because she is a mother of three. She remains loyal to a very neutral colour palette of mostly black, white, greys, browns, with the occasional pop of earthy or jewel toned colours. Mostly, Kourtney opts for pants either black, grey, or some sort of denim and shorts, but isn't afraid to throw on a skirt either. Kourtney also wears sneakers (she loves her Yeezy's just as much as the next Kardashian/Jenner) and flat soled boots and shoes just as often as she wears heels, which is sensible considering she is often spending down time with her children, sisters, and mother as well as running errands. However, she isn't exactly a stranger to heels either.

In my opinion, Kourtney's style is the most attainable and the easiest to emulate out of all three Kardashian sisters considering she wears a lot of basic colours and cuts, but manages to elevate looks with really fun and standout staple pieces like jackets, shoes, bags and sunglasses, not crossing the line between stylish-simple and bland.

I love Kourtney's style and use it as a guide when I lack inspiration for my own outfits. Style stars are meant to be used as mentors. Copying their exact outfits can result in your own style getting lost, which defeats the purpose of self-expression through your fashion sense and clothes. Always remember to add a personal twist to any outfit you draw ideas from!
