5 Underrated Celebrities To Add To Your Style Radar

Gigi, Kendall, Hailey, we love you! But its time for some new style stars to sink our teeth into.

Now more than ever, it seems like the fashion industry keeps putting emphasis on the same handful of people when it comes to off-duty street style, and if you've clicked on this article you probably feel the same way.

Below is a list I curated of five celebrities with amazing style, who I think are overlooked, and deserve more recognition in the fashion industry.

ROMEE STRIJD

Even though she's a world-famous model, who's walked for Victoria's Secret and countless other high-fashion designers, Romee's style is very much overlooked in comparison to her model counterparts like Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and Hailey Baldwin.

Romee's style is really one to look out for because it's quite toned down for model off duty style, making it more practical for people to emulate or take inspiration from in their own daily style.

Her style is chic, yet effortless and she constantly looks like she's dressed for a photoshoot. The key to channeling her style, or the "effortlessly chic" look is to not have everything be so matchy-matchy all the time.

When everything is perfectly colour-coordinated, and matched together it looks flat, and is a dead giveaway that you spent time putting together your outfit. If you really want an outfit that looks like you just threw something on, but still managed to look amazing and fashion-forward try incorporating bold colours, clashing textures, prints, or colours, mixing tones and wearing clothes you wouldn't normally pair together.

Try this, and you might be surprised at just how easy it is to achieve Romee's model-off-duty look.

MADISON BEER

Madison Beer is not only starting to take over the music business, but is making her own way in the fashion industry. This young starlet, who got her big break when Justin Bieber discovered her on YouTube, doesn't need help when it comes to her style.

Madison was born and raised on Long Island, New York but has now relocated to Los Angeles, the epicentre of the entertainment industry. You can tell through her sense of style that both cities have influenced what she wears.

Her style is very relaxed and minimal, yet simultaneously trend-driven and edgy; like a comfortable Instagram baddie. Because her outfits are so simple yet stylish, she incorporates many basic pieces that most people would already have in their closets.

Madison's everyday style is not very glam in comparison to some other stars like Kylie Jenner, Ariana Grande, and Olivia Culpo who are often seen sporting sky high stilettos for a trip to the grocery store. While this is commendable, it's not practical for the everyday person.

Her colour palette is mainly loyal to neutrals, but she'll sometimes go for a bold print or a pop of colour. She seems to have a revolving door of key pieces that make up her style like oversized jackets, little tops, high waisted bottoms, flowy mini dresses and comfortable footwear like combat boots or sneakers which are all accessible items you need to recreate her style.

EMMA ROBERTS

It always surprises me that not many people have caught on to how stylish Emma Roberts is. Though she's an incredibly talented actress and one of Hollywoods most iconic girls-next-door, she has a great sense of style. Considering her best friend is celebrity stylist Brit Elkin, you should probably pay more attention to what Emma's wearing.

Emma has a really eclectic sense of style. It's girly, with a fun twist that can change from rocker, to bohemian, to vintage and anything in between. There's really something for every sense style in Emma's outfits.

She has the ability to make something trendy look timeless, and it's because of the fact that she seamlessly blends it in with so many different clothing styles.

She is like a fashion chameleon, who keeps changing and shifting without ever looking out of place in what she wears.

If you're in a fashion rut, I highly recommend looking to Emma Roberts to help you learn how to style different clothes together to make a fashion style that's really unique to you and your personality.

DAKOTA JOHNSON

If you haven't heard of Dakota Johnson, you're hearing about her now, but not for the reasons you might think. Yes, she is typically known for her acting chops as well as being the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, but what she should really be recognized for is her style.

Dakota, for the most part, flips between a cool grungy-rocker and a put together preppy style of dressing, sometimes even combining the two. These are styles that would typically contrast one another, but work for Dakota.

Dakota is a great example of how to juxtapose styles in a way that looks good and purposeful. When she combines the two different styles, she does a great job of including enough elements from both styles, or selecting pieces that have already done that for her, so it looks intentional.

While the actual items that she wears aren't that easy to find dupes for, the idea of her style is so easy to attain. All you really need to do is play with the balance of rocker and smart style; items that contrast one another. Think: button down shirt and a leather jacket, combat boots and cropped tailored trousers, loafers and a band t-shirt, a classic bag with studding.

Think of creative way to contrast the two styles or fuse them together, and you'll have her style.

LUCY HALE

Lucy Hale may have played a liar on television, but it's no lie that she's criminally overlooked when it comes to her style. The sweet and petit actress doesn't have a major presence in the style community, but here's hoping that change will happen sooner rather than later.

Lucy has a quite simple style, and opts to dress up her outfits with accessories rather than going for clothes that are extravagant and over-the-top. It's casual and cute, but still chic enough to compete with the likes of other Hollywood style stars.

Lucy has an all-around tiny frame, yet manages to wear many baggier and looser pieces without her looking frumpy or like she's drowning in her clothes.

She'll always find some way to accentuate the area around her waist or some portion of her leg, so that the outfit is anchored, rather than letting all the fabric drown her, making her look like she's shapeless.

Lucy's style, for the most part, challenges the idea of proportion which can be fun to play around with, and can look amazing if done correctly.

The key is to make sure that one area of your body is being highlighted. Whatever it is, something needs to be slightly more cinched or tight than the rest of your outfit to draw the eye so that it still has some element of balance.

There are so many celebrities with great senses of style, and I feel that we should make an effort to look to different people for fresh new ideas when it comes to fashion, rather than just supermodels and big bloggers. So if you were surprised by at least one person on this list, I'm happy! Hopefully this will bring some fashion diversity into your lives!
